Damnoen Saduak Floating Market

Damnoen Saduak is one of a provicial district of Rajburi Province, about 109km sounth Bangkok or approximately 2 hrs drive.

Operating in the morning, it crowded with hundred of vendor and puchasers floating in their small rowing boats selling and buying.  What they pucahse are particularly food, fruit and vegitable. 

You can either walk on the passage along the both side of the pier or rent a boat to see the nearby river side souviners stores, that you are not able to reach by walk.  The boat ticket selling at the pier.

Grand Palace

The Grand Palace complex was established in 1782 and it houses not only the royal residence and throne halls, but also a number of government offices.  it covers an area of 218,000 square metres and is surrounded by four walls, 1900 metres in length. Inside Grand Palace consist of  The Royal Monastery of the Emeraid Buddha, The Upper Terrace, Subsidiary Buildings, The Galleries, The Phra Maha Monthian Group, The Chakri Group, The Dusit Group, The Borom Phim Mansion.
Open everyday from 8:30 a.m. to 16:30p.m. Ticket costs 350 Baht.
Traditional Thai Dance Shows at 10:30am & 2:00pm
Huge crawl during weekend.
Proper Dress in The Grand Palace for Visitors
Visitors are requested to be dressed properly and appropriately upon entering the ground of the Bhubing Palace. Thus the following dress - code (applicable to both ladies and gentlemen) will be strictly enforced:
1. Shorts, mini-skirts, short skirts, tight fitting trousers, as well as tights can not be worn as outer garments.
2. See-through shirts and blouses, as well as culotters or quarter length trousers can not be worn.
3. Sleeveless shirts or vests can not be worn as outer garments.
4. Sandles (without ankle or heel straps) can not be worn.
5. All shirt sleeves, whether long or short, can not be rolled up.
6. Sweat shirts and sweat pants, wind-cheaters, pajamas and fisherman trousers can not be worn

Or else you will need to rent a scarf in order allow you to enter.

Chatucak Weekend Market

Probably this is the world's biggest open air weekend flea market, one stop market, you can find everything you need here. .There are books, decoration items, plants, cloths, accessories, home utensils, handicrafts, pets, antique . . .  Operation during weekend and day time from 8:00am - 6:00pm. Too many things unable to carry back to your origin country? No problem here,  there are shipping service available too. A must for bargain.    It is very crowded with the local & tourists.  My advise is that if you find something you like please buy or else after some walk you will not able to find the shop that you wanted.


Amphawa Floating Market

AMPHAWA Floating Market is located in  Samutsongkram province 90km away from Bangkok.  It take  1.5 hrs drive from Bangkok. This market mostly are visit by their local.  This floating market start from afternoon until night.  There are some small boat selling local foods and drinks. Beside the river you can find some souvenirs shops with all their local products that you will not able to find elsewhere.  If you have time you may stay around this floating market, there are many nice cottage or villa.
Beside floating market you can take the small boat to see firefly the boat trip is around 1 hour, 60 baht/person1.5 hrs or charter a boat at 700 baht without waiting for others.
